||POSITION SUMMARY:Serves as the single source of truth for facility space metrics including room and department areas, volumes, uses, and correlation of space to system department numbers. Ensures space data is obtained, verified and updated appropriately. Develops and maintains base floor plan and site plan drawings for all owned and leased buildings with the system. Works with various system departments and outside consultants on the use of the data for planning, CMS cost reporting, decision support metrics, and other uses. Works with Facility Directors to develop and maintain Statement of Condition drawings for each acute care facility in accordance with applicable regulations and Joint Commission requirements. Working with facility project managers, maintains a library of record drawings from all facility projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Creates, updates, and maintains electronic floor plans of all occupied buildings across the system in CAD format.
2.Creates, updates, and maintains site plans of all sites within EMHS in CAD format.
3.Calculates and compiles area information in accordance with regulatory and customary practices.
4.Serves as the source of truth for all building space metrics, including volumes, gross areas, and net usable areas.
5.Provides accurate CMS cost report area by department information for each member to the finance department.
6.Creates, updates, and maintains CMS Statement of Conditions drawings for each acute care facility within the system, working collaboratively with the EMHS safety officer and member facility directors.
7.Creates, organizes, and maintains a digital archive of record drawings, submittals, and specifications for all construction and renovations projects across the system.
8.Administers both CAD and Space Management software for the Facilities Planning Group. Assigns access as appropriate. Trains users in the operation of the software. Assists in the development of custom reports.
9.Serves as the liaison between Project Management and other system groups on the development and use of space data, including the Reimbursement Department, the Facilities Directors, and the Decision Support Department.
10.Works independently to obtain and verify space data and use.
11.Works with the Facility Project Management group to develop and maintain a library of record drawing information for all facility projects, including drawings, specifications, submittal data, and permits.QUALIFICATIONS / EXPECTATIONS:A)Bachelor's degree (preferably in Engineering or Construction Management) plus at least two (2) years' experience in construction management OR associate's degree plus at least six (6) years' experience in construction managementOR high school diploma/equivalent plus at least ten (1) years' experience in construction management required.B)Must be very proficient in the use a CAD software program, preferably AutoCAD, Architectural Desktop, or Revit.
C)Must have a working knowledge of space management software, preferably Evolve.
D)Demonstrated ability to influence others' actions and decisions without express authority, and to motivate individuals and teams.
E)Demonstrated ability to work well with diverse people, excellent human relation skills and customer service skills, with strong follow-up skills and the ability to interpret underlying issues in responses received.
F)Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and technical design drawings of all nature.
G)Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to adapt both the communication style and content to suite the target audience(s).
H)Must be familiar with NFPA 101, The Life Safety Code, and able to translate code requirements to a Statement of Conditions drawing.
I)Flexible and able to react to ever changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
J)Broad knowledge of the major areas of construction, including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
K)Experience in healthcare design and/or construction, including fire separations and smoke assemblies.
L)Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite of software (Word and Excel primarily,).
