|POSITION SUMMARY: Under the leadership of the Pharmacy Operations Manager, the Pharmacist Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the daily operations in the pharmacy. Able to provide age appropriate Pharmaceutical care and serve as a resource to the pharmacy staff. Ability to verify, fill and dispensing medication orders including the proper handling, usage, monitoring and storage of drugs in the pharmacy. Must be adaptable to a fast-paced ever-changing environment. A strong team player. Must possess exemplary customer service skills and demonstrate consistent use of EMMC Caring Behaviors. Ability to communicate well with all members of the healthcare team. Must project a professional image at all times. Responsible for holding staff accountable in maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations and Joint Commission Standards. Ability to perform employee evaluations. Must be able to work all pharmacy assignments including but not limited to the main pharmacy, IV room, decentralized assignments, ROV, outreach and satellite pharmacies. Other duties as assigned.|

|MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: BS Pharmacy or PharmD - Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy|
|PREFERRED EDUCATION: PGY1 and/or PGY2 Pharmacy Residency; Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Certification|
|MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED: Three years experience in hospital pharmacy; BLS, ACLS or PALS or obtain within 6 months. Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Maine. Leadership in a formal leadership role or evidenced by strong informal leadership qualities and skills. Demonstrates strong clinical skills. Demonstrates teamwork, and organizational skills. Effective collaborative and problem solving skills. Ability to manage customer complaints and staff issues effectively; develop and manage pharmacy staff competency requirements; and assist in the development and maintenance of departmental directives that relate to pharmacy processes and procedures. Flexibility with work hours and activities in response to pharmacy needs. Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff. Ability to handle frequent interruptions. Ability to adapt to and initiate changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions and respond quickly to emergent requests. Ability to exercise sound professional judgment. Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively (orally and in writing). Ability to meet pharmaceutical care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, psychiatric, oncology, obstetric and rehabilitation patients. Must exhibit a caring and respectful attitude toward patients, co-workers, and other customers. Ability to cover staff shortages on day, evening, and night shifts on weekdays and weekends.|
|PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Three years experience in hospital pharmacy supervision; PGY1 Residency preferred; Must possess visual acuity, hearing acuity, verbal skills, and command of the English language necessary to communicate with patients, families, physicians, external agencies and staff in the organization. Must possess manual dexterity necessary for administrative tasks such as preparing reports and departmental budgets and managing quality improvement plan. Ability to identify own learning needs, to recognize need for assistance and seek it in a timely manner. Ability to work efficiently in the face of a variety of every changing requests and demands on time. Ability to build supportive relationships with co-workers and evaluate performance of staff members. Ability to modify staff behaviors to meet all regulatory requirements, to follow-up or initiate disciplinary actions with goal of changing negative behaviors. Must possess computer skills and Excel expertise. Prefer residency trained and Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification|
