Our Ellsworth/Hancock country region has a great position for a per diem physician wanting to make a positive difference in someone's life! You would be responsible for providing comprehensive oversight of care for patients with serious or life threatening illnesses, with a focus on improving the quality of life through the alleviation of pain and suffering. Additionally, you would be a member of the interdisciplinary team for providing guidance for hospice care provided through the agency's Hospice Program, for consultation to maintain the standards of hospice care, for the medical oversight of patient care and providing guidance to the agency regarding compliance with state and federal rules and regulation and with accrediting bodies. Occasionally you may be called upon as a consultant or function as the attending physician of record for the purpose of hospice care which includes being available on call to meet the medical needs of the client if the attending physician is unavailable.
We are seeking the right candidate who has experience caring for individuals with life limiting illnesses, working as part of an interdisciplinary team, committment to a team approach, superior interpersonal and communication skills related to the practice of palliative and end of life care.
