||Job Summary: Located at Northern LightEastern Maine Medical Center: The Consult Clinician is independently licensed(LCSW preferred) with experience in the treatment of mental health, addiction,or co-occurring disorders, and forensics. The Consultation Services Teamprovides psychiatric/chemical dependency triage and assessments at varyinglevels of urgency for all age groups on a 24-hour basis. The workenvironment includesEMMC Inpatient and Emergency Department examiningrooms and work areas. Work hours vary. The clinician also providesassessments and evaluations for minor to critically ill clients on a scheduledbasis. The clinician works under the direction and supervision of theClinical Supervisor for Consult Services and Care Coordination and the clinicalsupervision of a physician, either an Acadia Psychiatrist, EMMC physician orboth. Acting as a liaison with many community services and providers, theclinician is responsible for negotiating/advocating for the most appropriate,least restrictive services for the client. The Consultation ServicesClinician models a multi-disciplinary approach to providing quality patientcare as defined in the Acadia Hospital/Acadia Healthcare policy and proceduremanual. This person performs duties and/or responsibilities as assignedby the Manager or Supervisor for which s/he is qualified.RegulatoryRequirements:Qualified individual mustbe a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by the Maine State Board of SocialWork. Ability to be flexible and exercise independent judgment.Demonstrates collegial and multi-disciplinary relationships along the treatmentcontinuum. Experience in hospital-based clinical treatment servicespreferred. Completes Healthstream Mandatory Education on a yearly basis.Attends all mandatory safety related education programs. Follows safetyprocedures to prevent injury to self and others. Carries assigned keys andwears hospital ID badge at all times. Refrains from the abuse of chemicals.Language Skills:Must possess good oral andwritten communication skills in the English language.Physical Demands:Visual acuity, colorvision, hearing acuity, and tactile sensation are necessary to respond topatient response and requests. The ability to read and speak English, tocommunicate and document information. Must possess the manual dexterity and adegree of body strength and flexibility to respond toaggressive patient behavior. The ability to reach and stretch intermittently.Time may be spent sitting at a computer, collaborating with other healthcareteam members. Standing and walking comprises some of the workday.
