We are a host for Lifeflight of Maine, we provide outreach and support to local hospitals throughout Maine and serve as a resource for physicians, patients, and healthcare students.

This position offers a generous compensation package and $10,000.00* sign on bonus with a work commitment.

POSITION SUMMARY: The House Manager will oversee operations of the hospital campus and direct patient care activities in order to provide optimal patient outcomes and insure maintenance of patient care standards. The House Manager provides clinical expertise to staff, recognizes and assists in resolving professional, administrative and supervisory issues. The House Manager acts in the place of administration during off-hours. This highly visible position serves as a role model for patient care and service excellence utilizing the mission, vision and core values of Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. Responsibilities of this position include collaborating with nursing staff and nursing leadership, managing staffing based on acuity, facilitating patient throughput, and demonstrating comprehensive and effective verbal and written communication with all personnel and all departments

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Registered Nurse, Maine State Licensure or eligible to obtain. Baccalaureate in Nursing required.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree and a minimum three years nursing experience required. Leadership and supervisory experience as well as Master's Degree is preferred. Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills, teamwork, and organizational skills. Effective collaborative, problem solving skills. Ability to manage customer complaints and staff issues effectively. Must demonstrate ability to autonomously make sound decisions.
Clear understanding and working knowledge of Clairvia scheduling required.

OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED: Must possess visual acuity, hearing acuity, verbal skills, and command of the English language necessary to communicate with patients, families, physicians, external agencies and staff at all levels in the organization. Must possess manual dexterity for use of computer systems. Ability to communicate in an effective and hospitable manner in person and by phone. Flexibility with work hours and activities in response to department needs. Must possess basic computer skills. Must have ability to identify own learning needs; to work independently; recognize need for assistance and seek it in a timely manner; to prioritize work responsibilities; work efficiently in the face of a variety of changing requests and demands on time; build supportive relationships with co-workers and participate in 360 evaluations of staff members performance; and concentrate in a busy and often stressful environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess upper body strength, agility and lung capacity to perform BLS and other treatments. Must possess total body strength and flexibility to assist with patients. Must be able to lift/hold 10 lbs. Must be able to stretch, reach, and retrieve equipment from carts or from below knee level. Must be able to assist with transport of patient occupied bed or stretcher. Must be able to push patient occupied wheelchair.
Must be able to walk and stand throughout departments within EMMC for >= 50% shift. Must have ability to climb multiple flights of stairs in response to emergent situations. According to patient needs, may provide direct care within scope of license.
