Job Details POSITION SUMMARY: Assist with surgical room preparation, under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel. Help set up operating room, safely prepare and transport patients for surgery, maintain clean environment, and ensure the availability of appropriate supplies necessary to meet the patient care needs. Restock supplies utilized by the anesthesia team and ensure appropriate par levels and all other duties as assigned by supervisor. Assist with orientation and training. Supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School Graduate.
Able to speak and read English.
Knowledge of the operating Room environment.
BCLS prior to independent patient transport.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
Good interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Knowledge of the operating Room environment.
Minimum of 5 years ORA experience perferred
BCLS prior to independent patient transport.
This position includes taking non restricted call.
BLS prior to independent patient transport.
ISTAT Certification and maintance
Accucheck Compentancy
Clinical Compentence in Patient Care as determined.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Visual acuity, color vision, hearing acuity, and tactile sensation are necessary to hear responses and requests and to identify supplies and equipment. The ability to read English, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and color vision are required to check for outdates and to locate appropriate supplies and equipment. The Anesthesia Technician must possess the degree of total body strength and flexibility to move supplies and equipment. TheAnesthesia Technician must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and to assist with a total lift of a 200+ pound patient with other health care workers. Must possess a high degree of body strength and flexibility to assist in patient positioning and cleaning responsibilities. Tables, stools and equipment are moved several times a day to accommodate cases. Portable O2 tanks in holders are lifted from the floor onto the stretcher. The Anesthesia Technician must be able to stretch, reach and bend. The Anesthesia Technician must possess the respiratory volumes and upper body strength to perform CPR. Standing or walking comprises 95% of the Anesthesia Technician's workday. 5% of the time may be sitting or collaborating with other health team members.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Fast pace, equipment intensive environment. Fluctuations in temperature. Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals, blood and body fluids, infectious diseases, and radiation.
