||The purpose of this position is to prepare patients for visits with the providers and assist them with exams, paperwork, desktop items and other patient care tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
QualificationsPrior healthcare training required. Must be BLS and CMA certified.One year experience as Medical Assistant, C.N.A or EMT preferred. Other skills needed: immunization administration, vision and hearing screening, ability to obtain accurate vital signs and histories. Competent in use of computer software
General pleasant working conditions. May need to assist patients onto exam tables. Minimal lifting of supplies. Fair amount of walking standing and computer entry.
Comes in contact with patient/residents that may have contagious illness and with patient's excreta and blood. Subject to unpleasant odors and substances. HBV and HIV Category I: position involves tasks that involve inherent potential for mucus membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissues or a potential for spills or splashes of them. Appropriate measures are outlined in C.A. Dean's Exposure control Plan and are required for every employee involved in these tasks. Possibility of infection from patients. May come in contact with hostile patients
