||GENERAL DESCRIPTION/STATEMENT: The Medical Group MA/ Administrative, Staffing and Preventative Care Assistant will assist the Medical Group DON with float pool staffing and coordination, administrative duties, and other duties asassigned. He/she will also assist the RN Preventative Care Coordinator with planning, developing, managing, coordinating, and implementing population health management and clinical quality improvement strategies in order to positively impact community access to preventative care, reduce gaps in preventative health services in the patient panel, identify vulnerable populations, and assist to facilitate overall improvement in population health at AR Gould. The Administrative, Staffing and Preventative Care Assistant will demonstrate effective communication; consistently adhering to AR Gould Standards ofBehavior and policies; demonstrating safe, competent, and compassionate care tothe patient/family as a member of the Medical Group Team.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 1. Collaborates with the RN Preventative Care Coordinator to identify, plan, implement, and evaluate methods to decrease gaps in preventative care within the patient panel. 2. Maintain knowledge of current ACO, NCQA, MU and PCMH quality requirements, as well as CMS/Insurance guidelines.3. Proficient in the use of the Electronic Medical Record; , maintaining patient registries, performing reports and chart reviews/audits to identify vulnerable patients/populations,and running periodic quality reports to identify progress and areas requiring additional attention under the supervision of the RN Preventative Care Coordinator. 4. Communicates with the RN Preventative Care Coordinator regarding patients in need of referrals for preventative diagnostic tests, i.e. Mammogram, colonoscopy, etc- in response to gaps identified within reports; capturing patients whom have fallen behind on recommended preventative care regimens; taking both clinical and financial aspects of health care into consideration utilizing the Triple Aim philosophy, simultaneously improving the health of the population, enhancing the experience and outcomes of the patient, and reducing per capita cost of care for the benefit of the community. 5. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in the provision of care appropriate to the patient population served by the Primary Care Practices. Recognizes the importance of professional development and growth for self; seeking out appropriate educational opportunities.6.. Complies with all mandatory educational offerings, Healthstream assignments, and attends all meetings as scheduled.7. Role models commitment to the philosophy and objectives of AR Gould's Mission, Vision, Strategic Plan, and Service Excellence.8. Collaborates with AR Gould Medical Group managers in monitoringt he responsibilities assigned to secretarial and nursing/MA float pool personnel to ensure that employees are performing their assignments in a manner designed to maintain a high level ofpatient care and job efficiency.9. Assists with facilitating/recording Population Health, Policy and Procedure, and Clinical Support Staff Meetings. As appropriate,notifies those who are to attend. 10. Provides administrative support to the AR Gould Medical Group Director of Nursing.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs other duties, as assigned.LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Current Medical Assistant certificationAVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:Must be willing to work at least 40 hours per week. Occasional extended/weekend hours may be required as education and/or deadlines demand.EDUCATION SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Graduate of a two-year Medical Assistant program accredited by Commission on Allied Health and accredited and/or certified by the AAMA preferred.
Minimum requirements: High School Graduate or GED Equivalent. Twenty-four months of CNA, MA, or other clinical experience under a licensed healthcare professional within the past 36 months (Registered Nurseswill not be considered for a Medical Assistant Position, as they are over qualified for this role), with matriculation into a medical assistant program approved by Leadership within 6 months of hire. National certification must be successfully attained and maintained after completion of certificate ordegree program to meet compliance to perform in this position. Applicants withless than 24 months of experience in the past 36 months may be considered if their prior clinical experience meets all of the regulatory and compliance measures required to perform their role at the practice they are seeking employment.
Two years of experience in primary care setting with knowledge of PCMH,ACO, MU, and NCQA is highly preferred.
