||Job Summary:Under the supervision of the State Street Radiology Supervisor and FRH Supervisor with oversight supervision of the Manager Imaging Services, the Radiologic Technologist administers roentgen rays to neonatal through geriatric patients for diagnostic purposes. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential patient, employee and/or Mercy proprietary information, and must handle & protect the information in accordance with hospital & system policies, HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical standards. The incumbent is responsible for reporting all security events, potential events, or other security risks to the organization. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position, and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Northern Light Mercy Hospital.Requirements:Education and training enabling State of Maine license as Radiologic Technologist and registration with State of Maine Board of Examiners or eligible, ARRT required or eligible. If a new grad, must possess a temporary state license. Must exhibit flexibility and understanding indealing with differing physician treatment ideologies and interfacing withother departments. Must completeLaboratory phlebotomy training course and proficient in all phlebotomycompetencies. Must have analytical and problem solving skills to interpretpatient condition, administer appropriate invasive contrast drugs and radiationdosages while treating patients in accordance with physician directives anddepartment protocols. Must havejudgement and initiative to act independently in producing consistent, qualitydiagnostic results with minimal supervision. Must have excellent interpersonalskills to coach acutely ill patients, interact with physicians, nursing,families, and all levels of staff and employees. Must be able to explain highlytechnical information in an easily understandable manner. Must be highlyaccountable as the incumbent's abilities and actions impact patient care. Incumbent has access to highly confidentialpatient information.
