Additionally, the position oversees: ·Care standardization: working with clinicians to assure best clinical practices and encouraging their adoption; also ensuring compliance with regulatory agency standards and requirements.·Care coordination: assuring processes are in place that will optimize quality, cost, and access by choreographing expertise, technology, and access to care·Consumer orientation: focusing on how the programs can best meet the needs of theconsumer (not vice versa), and increasingly thinking through the lens of wellness and population health as the institution and system assumes more financial risk ·Growth: developing growth strategies and engaging with the Communications Department in marketing campaigns·Collaboration: Developing and fostering collaborations within the system as well as other key institutions to enhance the influence of the services as well as foster referral loyaltyEducation and Experience·Advanced degree in business administration, health administration, medicine or nursing required·Minimum of five years of health care leadership experience at director level or above required ·Minimum of five years of progressive experience within the cancer service line required ·Experience with, and working understanding of patient flows, treatments, and modalities within the cancer service line·Experience with, and working understanding of oncology-related regulatory and accreditation processes and requirements required·Experience with medical group management of cancer providers; physicians, surgeons and mid-levels.·Experience with outreach, working with cancers upport organizations and community screening programs·Experience with, and working understanding of government and commercial payor policies and reimbursement models pertaining to cancer care Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities·Ability to work well with physicians and other care givers·Ability to work effectively across sites and operating units·Ability to partner with others (both within andoutside of the organization) to achieve success·Effective communication skills·Effective skills in marketing, finance, philanthropy, and operationsEssentialFunctions·Position reports to the Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Sr. Vice President of Operations ·Position works closely with NLHS System Service Line Leader.·Position works closely with a full/part-time physician counterpart (the partnership hereafter referred to as "dyads") within each product line·Dyads are directly responsible for the following within the Oncology Service Line:Care standardization: develop Northern Light cancer care into a national model of best practices and coordinated careChoreography of care and services: work with operations to both locate and leverage technology and expertise in ways that optimize quality, cost, and access across the Northern Light Health systemSupport and foster a seamless care experience across the cancer care continuum and across the system: navigation, radiation,surgery, medical oncology, supportive care, palliative care, etc.Support a seamless care experience for patients requiring services from a Boston-based academic hospital or other specialty hospital needed by patientsTwo-way communication/engagement with practicing providers: ensure appropriate and ongoing dialogue with physicians and other clinical experts working within the Northern Light Health system The use of telehealth: incorporate telehealth applications to improve both care and access, and to reduce cost as appropriateBranding/marketing: work with the Northern Light Health, Northern Light Health Foundation and Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center's Communications Departments in designing and launching cancerservice line marketing campaignsMarket share growth: attract new patients to the Northern Light Health systemValue-based and Population Health initiatives: work with cancer team to both design/implement models and to achieve results pertaining to quality, wellness, and reduced cost of care Service line financial performance: work with operations to ensure a financially viable service line, and report results to leadership as requestedPartnerships/collaborations: work with Dana Farber Cancer Institute to establish and maintain strong collegial and mutually beneficial relationships. Leverage these partnerships to improve quality and reduce cost for Northern Light Health cancer patients.Research and education: work with Dana Farber Cancer Institute (and others as appropriate) in conducting clinical research and bringing the most effective/current means of treating cancer to Northern Light Health patientsPhilanthropy: work with the Northern Light Health Foundation in designing and launching a systemwide campaign
