||GENERAL DESCRIPTION/STATEMENT: The RN Clinical Lead is a professional registered nurse, licensed in the State of Maine. The incumbent will serve a resource and liaison to their Primary Care Clinical team to ensure the delivery of consistent and safe patient care. The RN will be responsible for triaging medical issues per policy, managing and prioritizing the provider(s)' desktop communications, and additional clinical/administrative duties as assigned by leadership. Direct patient care within the RN scope of practice will be performed to maintain clinical competency and as determined by practice needs. The RN will serve as a role model to the clinical staff; utilizing effective communication, consistently adhering to the Standards of Behavior and policies; demonstrating safe, competent, and compassionate care to the patient/family.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 1. Serves as a resource to the Primary Care clinical support staff to ensure that consistent, safe, and efficient patient care is delivered. Acts as a liaison between MA/LPN's and providers to ensure the consistent/safe delivery of patient care. Also ensures effective communication is occurring between the Primary Care Team, as well as the patient/family.2. Performs clinical/administrative duties, including, but not limited to, clinical staff scheduling, precepting and monitoring/documenting orientation progress, documentation of clinical staffs' annual competencies, and fostering staff's professional growth; under the guidance of the RN Clinical Supervisor.3. Assists with the interviewing, hiring, and evaluation processes as requested. Communicates concerns regarding new or current clinical support staff with direct supervisor as necessary.4. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in the provision of nursing care appropriate to the patient population served at the Walk-In Care setting. Performs direct patient care within the RN scope of practice, level of competency and per policy in order to maintain clinical competency, as determined by practice needs. 5. Ensures that medications are administered safely and only by competent clinical support staff as ordered by the provider and consistent with policies and protocols.6. Triages medical issues per policy and coordinates with physicians and/or clinical support staff to ensure procedures are followed appropriately when dealing with patient medical issues.7. Works in collaboration with Clinical and Administrative Practice Leadership staff to resolve identified patient issues and/or concerns.8. Monitors provider's desktop; handles items that appropriately meet JPP standards. Prioritizes provider desktop and communicates critical messages/results with provider within an appropriate timeframe.9. Ensures that ancillary testing ordered by provider is completed and follows-up with patient and/or provider as appropriate, i.e. abnormal test results, results not received, etc.10. Recognizes the importance of professional development and growth for clinical team and self; seeking out appropriate clinical/leadership educational opportunities. 12. Displays leadership skills and sets an example for practice staff. The RN will serve as a role model to the clinical staff; utilizing effective communication, consistently adhering to Standards of Behavior and policies; demonstrating safe, competent, and compassionate care to the patient/family.13. Huddles daily with the RN's assigned clinical support staff team; encouraging staff to effectively communicate concerns, provide real-time education, and ensure that the clinical environment is maintained appropriately.14. Complies with all mandatory educational offerings, Healthstream assignments, and attends all meetings as required.15. Role models commitment to the philosophy and objectives of Mission, Vision, Strategic Plan, and Service Excellence. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Communicates regularly with Director of Medical Specialists to ensure proper operations and provision of the best care for the patient panel. Will huddle with clinical support staff at each practice a minimum of one time weekly; encouraging staff to effectively communicate concerns, provide real-time education, and ensure that the clinical environment is maintained appropriately. Ensures appropriate communication is occurring between, front-end staff, clinical staff, and providers. Perform other work-related/clinical duties, within the RN scope of practice, as assigned.LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Current unencumbered Maine State RN license.AVAILABILITYREQUIREMENTS: Must be available to work occasional extended/weekend hours as staffing and/or education requires. EDUCATION SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: The applicant must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. The clinical supervisor must have a minimum of 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience. Two years of experience in an ambulatory setting similar to that which they will be providing clinical oversight is highly preferred. The Clinical Supervisor should have a work history demonstrative of progressive leadership.Current BLS required (or obtained within 30 days of hire or at next available course).
