||This position is located in a busy reference laboratory. The Client Service Specialist is the initial contact person for physicians and clients and must be able to communicate clearly and courteously in all contacts. The Client Service Specialist is also responsible for the intake of all specimens entering the laboratory. Duties include answering phones and directing calls to the appropriate person/area; processing specimens, to include assessment of specimen quality, proper identification and labeling; preanalytical procedures such as centrifuging, splitting, freezing, etc.; research of specimen type and quantity; and distribution of specimens to the appropriate laboratory area for testing. QualificationsHigh School Diploma (or equivalent) required. Successful candidates must possess the ability to concentrate in a busy work area with extreme attention to detail and be able to multi-task. Previous experience with specimen handling and knowledge of routine laboratory testing desired. Previous experience with computers (data entry) and handling of confidential information desired. Must be able to maintain confidentiality in all interactions.
