||JOB SUMMARY: Upon written referral, the Orthoptist/Prosthetist evaluates, measures and fits patients with the appropriate orthosis or prosthesis; documents all provided care in the medical recordDuties to include, but not limited to:· Appropriately focuses on customer needs and expectations as part of the care team, making referrals or transitions when necessary· Ensures technicians are well trained in O/P techniques· Provides excellent customer service, both for inpatient and/or external customers· Collaborates with provider regarding product to be delivered· Fabricates as appropriate or has produce fabricated · Instructs patient and family in proper use and care of product· Assists in obtaining product authorization with timely and accurate documentation EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of an approved school in Orthotics and Prosthetics; Board certified by ABC or BOCPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: manual dexterity and visual acuity required to operation equipment in the fabrication shop; walking and standing throughout the facility 75% of the dayWORKING ENVIRNMENT: Physical plant average. Daily exposure to dust and heat. Ovens during summer months raise the room temperature
