||POSITION SUMMARY: The Wound RN plays a key role in oversight of the patient at-risk of or with wound care needs. Develops and implements wound prevention, skin management, and wound treatment programs and provides corresponding education to patients, family members/caregivers, and facility/agency staff.Directs and provides professional nursing care while meeting patients' psychosocial, physical, and general aspect of care needs. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines, families, and/or caregivers. Responsible for initial assessment, reassessment and documentation of assigned patients. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs of patients. Communicates with practitioners regarding changes in patient's status, symptoms, and results of diagnostic studies.Responds quickly and appropriately to changes in patient condition or responses to treatment. Assumes responsibility for supervising/assessing other nursing personnel.Education Required:Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Experience Required:2 years of wound center experience preferred.Other Skills Required:BLS certification; wound certification preferred
