||Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is currently seeking an Internal Medicine/Cardiology Clinical Pharmacist Specialist who is responsible for internal medicine pharmacy services with expertise in cardiology. Responsibilities include developing, implementing and managing clinical services surrounding cardiology pharmacy practices at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center and providing guidance for the Northern Light Health System member hospitals. Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is seeking highly motivated applicants with effective communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.Position responsibilities include:- Work collaboratively with pharmacy staff, physicians, nurses, and other health-care professionals to provide direct patient care services and optimize the safety, efficacy, and cost effectiveness of medication use- Provide leadership and direction for clinical initiatives surrounding effective utilization of cardiac medications, including policy and order set development along with engaging in quality improvement projects with a focus on safety, quality, and best practice- Serve as a liaison between the Department of Pharmacy and Northern Light Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery of Maine, and cardiac nursing units- Report to the Pharmacy Clinical Manager and work collaboratively with the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Operations Manager to develop, implement, and maintain progressive services- Participate inNorthern Light Eastern Maine Medical Centerand Northern Light Health System pharmacy related committees, task forces, and system meetings- Able to function independently and collaboratively within a team setting- Participate in education-related activities, which include:o Serve as a preceptor to PGY1 pharmacy residents and APPE students o Provide in-services to pharmacists, providers, nurses, and other healthcare staffEducation/Experience
-State of Maine Pharmacist License
-B.S. Pharmacy or Pharm.D. required-PGY1 Health-System Pharmacy Practice residency required (commensurate experience will be considered)-PGY2 residency or 3 years hospital pharmacy experience preferred
