||Certified Surgical Technologist, the purpose of this position is to assist the surgeon in the care and treatment of the surgical patient; fulfills the duties of scrub nurse as assigned and assists with the maintenance, decontamination, cleanliness and sterilization of equipment and supplies used.QualificationsMust be a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program. Must pass certification test and maintain certification. Proficient with computer skills. A minimum of one year (1) experience preferred. The CST must possess the degree of total body strength and flexibility to assist patients to and from the OR table. The CST must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. instruments sets and to assist with a total lift of 200+lbs patient with other health care workers. The CST must possess the respiratory volumes and upper body strength to perform CPR and other patient care treatments. Standing or walking comprises 95% of the CST workday. 5% of the time may be done sitting at the computer or collaborating with other health team members. The job involves some sitting, use of a computer and a moderate amount of stooping, pushing, lifting, bending and a large amount of standing and reaching May come in contact with chemicals, which are irritating to the skin. Frequent exposure to body fluids. May be exposed to HBV/HIV Category I and other bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases. Radiation Exposure.
