||POSITION SUMMARY: Provides nursing care in busy medical group. Responsible for patient safety patient flow, patient satisfaction and quality patient care. Responsible for administering clinical staff performance evaluations and for documented competency of clinical staff. MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Registered Nurse currently licensed in Maine. BSN required. Previous supervision and evaluation of staff requiredMINIMUM EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: 3 years experience in acute care settingOTHER SKILLS REQUIRED: BLS Certification, IV Certification, Blood Glucose Monitoring.Must possess leadership skills, flexibility, strong clinical skills, organizational and teaching skills - work with providers and staff to promote safe and efficient patient care. Legible handwriting - requires excellent documentation and assessment skills as outlined in unit based orientation. National certification in Ambulatory Nursing desired. Must have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills and be a demonstrated team player. Must demonstrate reliability and accountability to team members and patients.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Flexibility, dexterity, visual acuity, hearing acuity, able to work sitting at work station, using keyboard, working in front of a video display monitor, moderate walking throughout facility. This individual must be able to lift approximately 15 pounds unassisted. Reaching and stretching intermittently are required for assisting patients in the ambulatory setting. The RN must possess the degree of total body strength and flexibility necessary to assist patients with transfers and mobility. The RN must be able to lift approximately a 200 lb patient with the help of several other health care workers. Patients are assisted in ambulating from the waiting room to exam rooms and back. Portable O2 tanks are lifted onto racks from the floor to stretchers or wheel chairs. The RN must possess the degree of respiratory volume and upper body strength to perform CPR and other patient care treatments. They must be able to stretch, reach, and retrieve equipment from supply carts and to bend to reach equipment stored below the waist.WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Busy, often stressful, ambulatory setting providing direct patient care to all age patients.
