||JOB SUMMARY: The outpatient rehab specialist RN provides support to medical practitioners providing patient care services in an ambulatory setting. Responsibilities include triaging of patient phone calls, managing the Multiple Sclerosis clinic, following up with the physician for patient care questions, completing intrathecal pump refills and all other duties as assigned by the clinical supervisor. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Registered Nurse currently licensed in Maine.MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Flexibility, strong clinical skills, organizational and teaching skills - work with staff to promote safe and efficient patient care.OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED: BLS Certification, Legible handwriting - requires excellent documentation skills. Ability to apply critical thinking skills and problem solving strategies within the scope of the nursing practice. Ability to improve coordination. Must be self-directed to handle multiple priorities successfully; pleasant, friendly manner, neat appearance, and maintaining appropriate certifications/licensure.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting, standing, reaching, bending, walking and stretching, hearing/verbal/visual acuity, ability to keyboard for extended periods of time. Assisting with transfers of patients, positioning of patient, pushing wheelchairs, etc.WORKING ENVIRONMENT: A busy, oftentimes stressful, ambulatory facility providing direct patient care, considerable amount of direct patient/customer contact. Have positive/proper phone etiquette with patients and co-treating provider offices.
