Job Details Northern Light Acadia Hospital is seeking a Medical Director for a full time pediatric inpatient clinical opportunity in Bangor, Maine. The Medical Director will work with a skilled interdisciplinary team in the delivery of psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and their families at Northern Light Acadia Hospital.

Responsibilities include: assessment, diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric and chemical dependency problems, as well as development and maintenance of a high-performing inpatient child & adolescent service. We embrace the bio-psychosocial model and provide outstanding supervision and support. The Medical Director will also coordinate care for their patients with the full spectrum of community services offered through our behavioral health service line. In addition, the Medical Director serves as a clinical leader, resource, and preceptor for other staff and participates in program development and quality improvement. Research opportunities and support are available through the Northern Light Health Clinical Research Center.

Northern Light Acadia Hospital is an acute care, regional psychiatric hospital in Bangor, Maine that is a leader in the provision of tele-psychiatry services, including consultations to regional emergency departments and primary care practices. Northern Light Acadia Hospital offers innovative programming in the form of a behavioral home health, integrated behavioral healthcare in primary care practices, and a geriatric mood and memory clinic, which is involved in multiple clinical trials for promising Alzheimer's medications. The hospital is the sole corporate member of Northern Light Acadia Healthcare that provides a substance use disorder treatment program, case management services, and other outpatient mental health services in Penobscot, Waldo, and Knox counties. Northern Light Acadia Healthcare is the sole member of Restorative Health, LLC that operates an outpatient mental health clinic in Bangor.
