||Job Summary:The Clinical Advisor is a fully competent practitioner of nursing, responsible for providing consultation to clinical nurses about patient care issues. The incumbent provides resources to facilitate nursing practice according to the Rules and Regulations defined in the State of Maine Nurse Practice Act and Mercy Hospital Standards of Care/Practice. The incumbent collaborates with administrators, nurse managers, clinical nurses, physicians and other health care professionals in providing the best patient disposition for meeting Mercy Hospital's philosophy of care. The incumbent provides first-line administrative support to clinical nurses and other hospital personnel during evening, night, holiday, and weekend hours. The incumbent performs all duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential patient, employee and/or Mercy proprietary information, and must handle & protect the information in accordance with hospital & system policies, HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical standards. The incumbent is responsible for reporting all security events, potential events, or other security risks to the organization. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position, and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital. Requirements:Current registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine. Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer certification and ACLS certification is required. Evidence of on-going education in nursing issues. Minimum of five (5) years nursing practice to include medical/surgical and critical care experience. Proficient in IV therapy practice. Knowledge of nursing practice and education. Demonstrated expertise in interpersonal skills. Healthcare Provider/Professional.
