Under the supervision of the Chief Radiologic Technologist and working in conjunction with the Physician/Radiologist, the CVIR Technologist administers highly specialized diagnostic radiographic procedures to adolescent through geriatric patients. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential patient, employee and/or Mercy proprietary information, and must handle & protect the information in accordance with hospital & system policies, HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical standards. The incumbent is responsible for reporting all security events, potential events, or other security risks to the organization. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position, and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital.Requirements:
State of Maine Radiologic Technologist license.
Other Skills Required:
Experience and on-the-job training sufficient for upgrading to position. Must exhibit understanding and flexibility in dealing with differing physician treatment ideologies. Must have analytical and problem solving skills to interpret patient physical condition, administer appropriate invasive contrast drugs and radiation dosages while treating patients in accordance with physician directives and department protocols. Must have excellent interpersonal skills to coach acutely ill patients, interact with physicians, nursing and staff. Must be able to explain highly technical information in an easily understandable manner. Must be highly accountable as the incumbent's abilities and actions immediately impact patient care. Incumbent has access to highly confidential patient information.
