Diabetes nurse educator provides individualized diabetes self-management education, training and counseling to individuals and groups according to the Scope of Practice, Standards of Practice, and Standards of Professional performance for Diabetes Educators.Requirements:
State of Maine RN License Required
Certified Diabetes Educator
A minimum of 1 year of experienceOther Skills Required:
Ability to assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate diabetes care plans for people with and at risk for diabetes.
In-depth knowledge about current diabetes treatment management.
Able to provide Diabetes self-management education and training both individually and in group settings.
Computer literate and able to navigate among different electronic medical records.
Participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the DSMT program.Physical Requirements:
Exerting up to 10lbs occasionally, sitting most of the time, and only brief periods of standing or walking..
