POSITION SUMMARY: Provide nursing care in physician practices; duties can vary by practice specialty. Carry out instructions provided by clinical coordinator(s), clinical supervisors and Director, Clinical Services of Physician Practices; The RN will be responsible for the assessment, triage of patient needs and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Registered Nurse with at least 3 years of acute care nursing experience. Licensed at an RN level by the State of Maine Board of Nursing. PREFERED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; TNCC preferred.MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: At least 3 years of nursing experience in Family Medicine, Emergency Department or Acute Care Setting. BLS Certification. PREFERED EXPERIENCE: Pediatric nursing experience. Prior experience in Primary Care setting. Emergency Department Experience preferred.OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED: The RN needs to be professional as well as knowledgeable, responsible, and accountable to manage patient care over the continuum and to assist in improving quality, cost, and patient/service satisfaction outcomes. The RN needs excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills as well as computer literacy including, but not limited to the electronic medical record, electronic data entry, retrieval and report generation. Excellent documentation and assessment skills, POC testing to include urine dip, urine preg, rapid strep, INR. Ability to read and speak English fluently. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to tolerate extended period of computer and telephone use. Must be able to assist in patient transfers from wheelchair to exam table, lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, continuous standing and walking, periodic bending and stooping. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Busy office setting, physician's offices and clinical settings, including some weekend and evening work.
