||Northern Light HomeCare & Hospice is seeking per diem Physician in Hancock County, Maine. Physicianresponsible for providing comprehensive oversight of care for VNA clients withserious or life-threatening illnesses, with a focus on improving the quality oflife through the alleviation of pain and suffering. Additionally, you would be a member of theinterdisciplinary team for providing guidance for hospice care provided throughVNA's Hospice Program, for consultation to maintain the standards of hospicecare, for the medical oversight of client care and providing guidance to VNAregarding compliance with state and federal rules and regulation and withaccrediting bodies. Occasionally you maybe called upon as a consultant or function as the attending physician of recordfor the purpose of hospice care which includes being available on call to meetthe medical needs of the client if the attending physician is unavailable.Qualification Requirements:·Current Maine MD or Physician license·Experience caring for individuals with lifelimiting illness·Proven clinical experience and competence inboth hospice care and palliative medicine·Commitment to a team approach, including teachingof allied and mid-level practitioners·Superior interpersonal, organization andcommunication skills·Broad and in-depth technical knowledge andskills related to the practice of palliative and end of life care·Ability to speak clearly and comfortably to anduse tact, discretion and sensitivity in dealing with patients and families,including excellent interviewing and counseling skills·Ability to explain medical problems andtreatments in accurate and understandable lay language·Current BLS for Healthcare Providers·Current DEA certificate to prescribe schedule IInarcotics, which is free from restrictions for same·Evidence of effective communication skills,using verbal, written and telephonic means·Valid driver's license with reliabletransportation and VNA required auto liability insurance·Ability to travel in assigned service area.Northern Light Health At Northern Light Health, we'rebuilding a better approach to healthcare because we believe people deserveaccess to care that works for them.
