|Provides direct medical care to Wound Healing Center patients ensuring timely and correct disposition of all patients, including appropriate coordination of care, preventive medicine and patient self-management opportunities. The physician must maintain a strong working rapport with the Northern Light Mercy HospitalPrimary Care physicians,Hospitalists and Physician Extender staff, the medical staff, consultants and emergency medical personnel. Interviews, examines treats, informs, and educates patients in an outpatient clinic setting. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with standards established for the job. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential patient, employee and/orNorthern Light Mercy Hospitalistproprietary information, and must handle & protect the information in accordance with hospital & system policies, HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical standards. The incumbent is responsible for reporting all security events, potential events, or other security risks to the organization. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position, and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Northern Light Hospital.|

|Must be eligible for Northern Light Mercy Hospital Staff membership and hold a valid State of Maine license. Board certification or eligible in the physician's specialty. MD, DO, or DPM. Broad and in-depth technical knowledge and skills related to the practice of medicine, and wound care. Relevant training and experience in a wound care and hyperbaric medicine is desirable. Good formal and informal teaching and supervisory skills. Good planning and administrative skills. Ability to speak clearly and comfortably to and use tact, discretion and sensitivity in dealing with patients, including good interviewing and counseling skills, and ability to explain medical problems and treatments in accurate and understandable lay language. |
