Job Details Northern Light Acadia Hospital is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) located at the Bucksport Regional Health Center. This is 30-hour per week telemedicine position.

Job Summary:

The Integrated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is an independently licensed and credentialed provider who provides and directs the delivery of psychiatric services. The PMHNP applies research-based knowledge, skills, and experience to the care of primary care patients evidencing functional impairment related to psychiatric issues, substance use and/or insomnia and considers how these issues effect and are affected by co-occurring medical problems. The PMHNP employs modalities to include psychotherapy, responsible medication management, and other interventions. The PMHNP collaborates with other healthcare providers to participate in the care of patients, affect change in systems, and enhance the ability of others to provide comprehensive healthcare. The PMHNP functions as a clinical leader and participates in program development and improving quality of care. All other responsibilities as directed by program manager or clinical supervisor.

Northern Light Acadia Hospital offers innovative programming in the form of a behavioral home health, integrated behavioral healthcare in primary care practices, and a mood and memory clinic, which is involved in multiple clinical trials for promising Alzheimer's medications. Other available services include individual therapy, intensive outpatient treatment, ECT, ketamine, inpatient psychiatric treatment and an observation unit. The hospital is the sole corporate member of Northern Light Acadia Healthcare that provides a substance use disorder treatment program, case management services, and other outpatient mental health services in Penobscot, Waldo, and Knox counties. Northern Light Acadia Healthcare is the sole member of Restorative Health, LLC that operates an outpatient mental health clinic in Bangor.
