|Northern Light Mercy Hospital is hiring a per diem non-invasive Cardiologist! Apply today for this excellent opportunity in beautiful downtown Portland, ME!This is a great team of physicians. Weare looking for an experienced physician who is interested inproviding some call coverage for our cardiology team.The physician is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiological disorders of patients. The physician must continually focus on patient safety and ensure timely and correct disposition of all patients, including appropriate coordination of care, preventive medicine and patient self-management opportunities. The physician must maintain a strong working rapport with the Northern Light Mercy Hospital Primary Care physicians,Oncologists, Hospitalists and Physician Extender staff, the medical staff, consultants and emergency medical personnel. The physician will actively monitor and coordinate service line enhancements. He/she must attend division meetings, have a current knowledge of surgical policies and procedures, and participate in quality improvement initiatives within the Dept and the practice. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position. In addition, the incumbent conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital.|
|Position reports to:||Medical Director of Cardiology|
|A MD or DO required. Must be Board certified or board eligible in cardiology. Must be eligible for Northern Light MercyHospital Staff membership and hold a valid State of Maine license. Broad and in-depth technical knowledge and skills related to the practice of cardiology, including knowledge of all major body systems and their impact on function. Excellent teaching, supervisory and administrative skills. In-depth familiarity with evidence-based cardiological care and risk management strategies. Ability to speak clearly and comfortably to patients and use tact, discretion and sensitivity in dealing with patients, including excellent interviewing and counseling skills. Ability to explain medical problems and treatments in accurate and understandable lay language. Ability to deal effectively with a wide range of care providers and personnel inside and outside of Northern Light Mercy Hospital.|
