Reporting to the VP of Enterprise Revenue Cycle of Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems, this position is responsible for managing, planning, coordinating, and executing the implementation of various Enterprise Revenue Cycle operational and technology projects. The Project Manager oversees the operational aspects and scopes of multiple projects, identifies resources as needed, and effectively establishes quality assurance procedures. The Project Manager will develop applicable processes and outcome metrics to measure project success and meet business objectives. Additionally, they will manage project dependencies and ensure consistent, timely communication with both the project team and stakeholders. The Project Manager is responsible for updating revenue cycle leaders on project statuses, as well as serving as the liaison between implementation teams and the VP of Revenue Cycle.?PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIESGeneral Responsibilities / Duties-Author strategic documents, such as project charters, education and communication plans, and detailed project plans that govern project team objectives, expectations, and timelines-Facilitate, coordinate, and track the day-to- day activities required to deliver projects on-time and in a manner consistent with organizational or project goals-Prepare and complete high-quality deliverables as required by each project-Manage a clearly defined project scope and motivate team members to accomplish project objectives-Identify, manage, and escalate risks, issues, and cross-project dependencies proactively-Participate on revenue cycle leadership team meetings providing insights and communicating key operational and financial decisions pertaining to the revenue cycle -Build effective and collaborative work relationships and facilitate productive communication between key revenue cycle stakeholders, including peer leaders of revenue cycle services and other core support departments (e.g., human resources, finance, IT)-Encourage and support employee decision-making within their scope of project responsibilities-Develop a deep understanding of all EMHS Member Organization's Revenue Cycle operations, which includes a thorough understanding of Cerner and any applicable systems and tools-Build strong relationships and facilitate effective communication between hospital and physician-based Revenue Cycle and Clinical (where appropriate) operations, centralized Revenue Cycle operations (PAS, Middle Revenue Cycle Operations, PFS, Customer Service), and core support departments (e.g., human resources, business support services, compliance, finance)-Participate in and, where appropriate, lead cross functional Revenue Cycle projects-Analyze operational requirements and system capabilities-Facilitate all levels of management for developing and implementing key strategies in integration, quality, process efficiency, and performance outcomes-Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge and applies that knowledge in the development of future state processes, as well as, in the analysis of current state processes-Participate in and conduct internal and/or external meetings and training programs while staying current and compliant on key regulatory and/or statutory issues that may affect current/future assignments-Inform leadership of these issues and of any related impacts to the Revenue Cycle team, and others as applicable-Complete any duties and special assignments, as communication to other Revenue Cycle areas-Plan, develop, and implement a wide array of interdisciplinary Revenue Cycle projectsQUALIFICATIONSExperience-Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, healthcare administration, or closely related field is required. -At least five (5) years' experience with healthcare revenue cycle management, focusing on managing projects to results, organizing multi-disciplinary teams, understanding financial and clinical interdependencies, and being responsible for timely project delivery-Experience as part of a team managing a healthcare technology implementation strongly preferred-PMP and/or LEAN certification preferred-Prior work experience should include a project management role in a large scale, multi-year operating model transformation -Experienced in using team building to positively influence the work environment-Excellent written communication, verbal communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills -Self-directed with the ability to work with various stakeholders and teams -Ability to make quality, independent decisions as well as the ability to collaborate effectively to make decisions with other leaders -Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines and multiple interruptions -Superior project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills - A demonstrated ability to use PC based office productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel) as necessary and PC based financial tools (spreadsheets, data bases, financial planning software and graphics, Microsoft preferred) effectively for analyses and presentations
