||Performs diagnostic imaging procedures. Applies principals of radiation protection. Evaluates diagnostic imaging for technical quality. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Provides patient care essential to radiographic procedures. Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action. Performs administrative duties associated with the functioning of the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
Required Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensed Radiologic Technologist by the State of Maine. Must maintain current CPR certification.
Physical RequirementsMust be capable of transporting patients. This involves lifting and assisting others in lifting to transfer patients. Lifting and filing of film folders requires bending and lifting overhead, as needed.
Working EnvironmentPossible exposure to chemicals and ionizing radiation. HBV and HIV Category II: Position involves tasks with inherent potential for needle sticks, mucus membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissues or potential spills or splashes of them.
