Job Details Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is currently seeking a Pharmacy Clinical Manager who is responsible for the vision, leadership, and management of progressive Clinical Pharmacy Services for Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center's inpatient and outpatient settings. The Clinical Manager works with the Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Operations Manager, and 5 Clinical Specialists to develop, implement and manage clinical services that ensure safe, optimal and cost effective clinical outcomes.The Clinical Manager also contributes to clinical initiatives for theNorthern LightHealth System.

Position responsibilities include:

· Provides direct pharmaceutical care services by promoting safe and effective

edication management processes

o Implements and manages formulary decisions and processes

o Directs implementation and activities for Medication Use Evaluations

o Coordinates clinical activities of the Clinical Pharmacist Specialists and Clinical

Pharmacist Generalists

· Develops, implements and assesses performance improvement and quality

initiatives

· Oversees the departmental competency, education and staff development

activities

· Committees Participation

o Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee – works with Chair to prepare agenda;

ensures implementation of P&T decisions

o Cancer Care Pharmacy/Nursing Collaborative

o Medical Education Committee

o Nurse Residency Advisory Committee

· Works with the Director and Operations Manager to ensure regulatory and Joint

Commission compliance

· Acts as liaison to pharmacy schools

o Coordinates IPPE and APPE student rotations

o Coordinates and oversees activities of pharmacy school faculty clinicians

· Precepts Pharmacy Residents and APPE students

Education and Experience:

· State of Maine Pharmacist licensure

· BS Pharmacy or PharmD required

· PGY1 Health-System Pharmacy Practice Residency plus 5 years hospital pharmacy experience – OR – PGY2 Clinical Specialty Residency plus 3 years hospital pharmacy experience required; (equivalent experience will be considered)

· Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification preferred

· Advanced degree (i.e. MBA, MHA) preferred

Our practice model includes clinical pharmacist generalists and specialists.
