and Western Washington counties.Description: Directs and provides professional nursing care while meeting patients' psychosocial, physical and general aspect of care needs. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines, families and/or caregivers. Responsible for initial assessment, reassessment and documentation of assigned patients. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs of patients. Communicates with practitioners regarding changes in patient's status, symptoms and results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and appropriately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment. Assumes responsibility for supervising and assessing other nursing personnel. Responsible for safety and flow of the department assuring that staff comply with policies, procedures and JCAHO regulations. Communicates with all disciplines regarding patient status, flow, and continuation of patient care.
Licensure, Education, Experience and Skill Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must have activeMaine RN license or eligible toobtain.Two years of nursing experience preferred. Previous Emergency Department or acute care experience preferred.Must have active BLS and ACLS certification at time of hire.Also, active PALS andTNCC or obtained within 6 months of hire.. Board Certification in Emergency Nursing preferred. Must have ability to operate, or learn to operate unit specific equipment and demonstration of excellence in clinical, behavioral and communication skills and practice. Demonstration of calm, consistent collaboration and teamwork. Ability to work in a fast paced environment, computer proficient, ability to stand for long periods of time.
