||Northern Light Mercy Hospitals Windham Express care is hiring a per diem physician. We are offering a competitive hourly rate, and a great working environment. Diagnoses and treats both medical and minor surgical problems of moderate acuity, in a walk-in or outpatient context, distinct from emergency medicine in a hospital emergency department. Evaluates diagnoses stabilizes and treats disease without limitations to specific organ system or region of body. This care is provided on an episodic, not an ongoing or longitudinal bases, and does not replace the care received from a primary care physician. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with standards established for the job. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential patient, employee and/or Northern Light Mercy Hospital proprietary information, and must handle & protect the information in accordance with hospital & system policies, HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical standards. The incumbent is responsible for reporting all security events, potential events, or other security risks to the organization. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position, and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Northern Light Mercy Hospital.Requirements:Board certification or board eligibility in family practice, emergency medicine or internal medicine. ACLS and PALS in process or certification. M.D. or D. O degree plus a three (3) year internship and residency, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Broad and in-depth technical knowledge and skills related to the practice of family, emergency or internal medicine. Minimum 2 years relevant training and experience in a primary care, internal medicine, emergency medicine or family practice setting strongly preferred. Good formal and informal teaching and supervisory skills. Good planning and administrative skills. Ability to speak clearly and comfortably to and use tact, discretion and sensitivity in dealing with patients, including good interviewing and counseling skills, and ability to explain medical problems and treatments in accurate and understandable lay language. Ability to deal effectively with other MMA personnel as well as a wide range of individuals and organizations outside of Northern Light Mercy Hospitalist.
