Bob Cardona Scholarship
This scholarship, named in honor of late Northern Light Mercy Hospital employee, Robert ‘Bob’ Cardona, RDMS, RVT, RDCS, recognizes students with goals to pursue a career in sonography.
Upon graduation from Westbrook High School, Bob went through school for medical imaging, dedicating himself to a career in ultrasound. He cared for patients from the west coast to the east. Bob was an entrepreneur and trailblazer, creating a company for independent contracting of ultrasound services in New England.
Bob’s passion for the field, helping others, and continued learning truly shone during his time as sonography trainer at Northern Light Mercy Hospital. His legacy will continue through the many ultrasound students he taught and sonographers he supported. He was a wealth of knowledge and an invaluable resource to providers he served.
Bob instilled a love for life and ongoing learning with all he met. Always striving for excellence and growth, he continued to set and meet goals and encouraged others to do the same. The recipient of this scholarship should exhibit similar qualities that Bob embodied - a strong work ethic, professionalism, dedication, kindness, and a positive attitude.
