In early March, the Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Auxiliary gathered in Bangor for their annual meeting—a celebration of compassion, community, and enduring commitment to patient care.

Chaired by Jan Currier, the group proudly presented a check for $13,962.34 to the Northern Light Health Foundation. The funds, generated from their endowment, will support the treatment of children at Eastern Maine Medical Center, continuing a legacy that began in 1893 as the Women’s Aid Society.

Over the decades, the Auxiliary has provided significant support of critical projects benefitting children in our community such as:
  • Contributing to construction costs for the Lafayette Family Cancer Institute
  • Support of the Raish Peavey Haskell Children’s Cancer and Treatment Center
  • Funding to purchase Miracle II, a neonatal transport ambulance
Through fundraising events like the Mother’s Day basket raffle, community lunches at local restaurants, and educational “lunch and learns,” the Auxiliary strengthens both Eastern Maine Medical Center and the greater Bangor community.

Always welcoming new members, the Auxiliary offers a meaningful way to give back, connect with others, and help ensure high-quality care for generations to come.
