Pet Visitation

Pet Visitation
Pets are a source of comfort to patients. We welcome pets to visit patients during their stay, and there are certain rules that need to be followed to ensure the safety of all patients.

All visitors with animals entering the hospital need to check in at the Main Entrance. Pet visits are limited to dogs only and must be a personal pet of the patient; they must also be older than six months of age and have proof of up-to-date immunizations.

Personal dog visits are reserved for patients who are here for longer than ten days, or terminally ill patients. Upon arrival, staff will contact the nursing unit of the patient you are visiting and ask if the patient meets the criteria for his/her dog to visit and is feeling well enough for a visit. Staff will then issue a dog visitation pass/badge that needs to be worn by the handler for the duration of the visit.

Please be sure to ask if you have any questions while visiting with a pet.
