Vice President, Nursing and Patient Care Services, Northern Light Blue Hill and Maine Coast Hospitals

Kristin Cyr, MSN, MBA, CHC, CHPC is the vice president of Nursing and Patient Care Services of Blue Hill and Maine Coast Hospitals.

Kristin oversees both the strategic planning and day to day operations of the nursing and ancillary departments at Blue Hill and Maine Coast Hospitals. She collaborates with departmental leadership to ensure safe and efficient patient care is being delivered within the two hospitals.

Kristin focuses on education, competency, and the safe delivery of patient care to the community members who come to the facilities for services. Kristin is passionate about building a team of well qualified caregivers who are committed to providing excellent customer service.

 As a leader in the community, Kristin serves as a board member for Restored Hope (previously known as Open Door Recovery Center).
 
Prior to joining Northern Light Health, Kristin was a CNA and a nursing student. She has worked for Northern Light Health since 2001, starting her career at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. After approximately 14 years, Kristin started a career in healthcare compliance at Northern Light Health. This opportunity was a great chance for learning and expanding her healthcare compliance knowledge. In 2018, Kristin transitioned into her current role within Northern Light Health.

Joseph Gaetano MS, FACHE is the vice president, Operations for Blue Hill & Maine Coast Hospitals.

In his role, Joseph is responsible for operations, including Specialty and Primary Care.

He is passionate about helping to provide community access to high quality patient care services

He has been involved in the community by supporting COVID testing and vaccination programs for all Maine residents and visitors.

Prior to joining Northern Light Health, Joe was the vice president of Digital Healthcare for Siemens Medical, USA.

Noah Lundy, MBA is the vice president, Human Resources East Region A.

Noah designs and implements human resource strategies that support the organization’s plans and agenda and leads the day-to-day management of the regional HR team.
 
He is passionate about building collaborative relationships with staff, management team, and key stakeholders in an effort to improve overall organization performance.
 
As a community leader, Noah is an active Rotary member.
 
Prior to joining Northern Light Health, Noah was the labor relations manager for the University of Maine System.

Wendy Merchant is vice president of Finance for Blue Hill and Maine Coast Hospitals.

As vice president, Wendy is responsible for oversight of the finances for both Hospitals as well supervision of Facilities, Environmental Services, Dietary & Materials Management.
 
She is passionate about RV’ing, football and reading.
 
In her role as a leader in her field Wendy is a member of the Board of Directors of Medical Mutual Insurance Company, and Audit Committee chair of Medical Mutual Insurance Company.
 
Prior to joining Northern Light Health, Wendy was most recently a controller for Clear Channel Radio, and prior to that an auditor for PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Vice President, Senior Physician Executive, Northern Light Blue Hill Hospital

Michael George Murnik, MD is the vice president and senior physician executive for Northern Light Blue Hill Hospital.

Dr. Murnik is responsible for clinical quality, patient experience, clinician and staff relations, community collaboration, population health, and other duties.

He is passionate about primary care and caring for the local Community. 

As a leader in the system and the broader community, Dr. Murnik sits on the Northern Light Health Medical Group Council as an ad hoc member and on the Board of Healthy Acadia. 

Prior to joining Northern Light Health, Dr. Murnik was a staff physician at Maine Coast Hospital, an associate professor of medicine at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine-teaching in the residency as well as the medical school, and a physician in rural Montana. 

Education:
Dr. Murnik is a graduate of Columbia College of Columbia University in New York, the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and the University of New Mexico Family and Community Medicine residency.  He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. 

Dr. Murnik became Blue Hill Hospital’s senior physician executive in October 2014.

John K. Ronan, FACHE is the president of Northern Light Blue Hill and Maine Coast Hospitals, and senior vice president of Northern Light Health.
 
John is responsible for the administration of Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital and Northern Light Blue Hill Hospital.
 
As president, John is passionate about many areas of healthcare, with patient experience being at the top.
 
John has an extensive background in community service. He has served as chair of the Blue Hill Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is currently a member of the Ellsworth Economic Business Development Corporation. He is a current member and past chair of the Maine Hospital Association Board of Directors and recently served on the American Hospital Association’s Regional Policy Board. John is also a past board member of John Bapst Memorial High School, the Good Samaritan Agency, and the Bangor Humane Society. He was a member of the Green Lake Association, past chair of the Glenburn Reorganizational Committee for School Consolidation and was the chair of the Children’s Miracle Network Golf Tournament for several years.
 
Before coming to Blue Hill Hospital in 2009, John worked for EMHS (Eastern Maine Healthcare System) in Brewer as the corporate director for Information Systems and as a vice president in the Finance Division. His previous experience includes information systems work for Central Maine Power in Augusta and as an IT consultant for Andersen Consulting in Boston, MA.
