One Vision. One Future

The Campaign for Mercy Hospital

Scroll

Thanks to our community of patients
and supporters!

In January 2022, we fully opened our Fore River healthcare campus and completed the largest capital campaign in Mercy’s history.

These achievements would not have been possible without remarkable and generous support of individuals, local businesses, employees, foundations, and grateful patients.

With the help of our community, Mercy has reached several exciting milestones, each one bringing us closer to realizing the vision for increasing and strengthening access to healthcare for all.

Our new easily accessible campus provides a nurturing environment for healing and brings together extensive services, advanced medicine, innovative technology, and compassionate people.  We are proud to provide local care that is nationally recognized.

While it was bittersweet to leave our State Street hospital campus, the Mercy mission and our dedicated staff will continue to be integral to the clinically excellent and compassionate care that has defined Mercy since the Sisters of Mercy administered the hospital beginning in 1918.

On behalf of the entire Mercy family, thank you for your strong investment in the care we are proud to provide to every patient who walks through our doors.

What Mercy Means to Me

Support One Mercy

While our move is complete, there is still an opportunity to support One Mercy. We would be grateful for your assistance. The opportunity to make a difference has never been greater. With your help, we will continue the Sisters of Mercy’s mission of compassionate healing, saving, and changing lives into Mercy’s new century of care. Your valued support of the One Mercy campaign will provide everyone who comes through our doors—your loved ones and neighbors—a choice to receive convenient, expert, compassionate care.

Giving Opportunities Make a Gift

Mercy gratefully accepts gifts of publicly traded securities, including stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. These types of gifts may be transferred electronically or delivered in certificate form. It is the general policy for all publicly traded securities to be sold upon receipt.

Charitable gifts of stocks, bonds, or mutual funds that have been held for at least one year and have appreciated offer special tax advantages. You will receive a tax deduction for the full market value of the gift, but you will not have to pay capital gains tax on the appreciated amount. If you sell depreciated stock and contribute the proceeds, you will receive both a tax deduction for the charitable gift and a deduction for the capital loss.

Memorial and tribute gifts to Mercy’s Fore River II capital campaign can celebrate an occasion, honor a friend or caregiver, or remember a beloved friend or family member.

The Mercy Hospital Foundation staff can provide you more information about how to make a memorial or tribute gift.

Share your name with Mercy’s unparalleled compassionate care and partner with our remarkable caregivers who heal, treat, and support our patients and their families.

Beyond their value as an expression of appreciation, commemorative gifts enrich the Mercy community with the names of those who exemplify selfless giving, perpetuate the memory of those honored and serve as an ongoing inspirational tribute to future generations.

Your valued support of the One Mercy campaign will provide critical health services to our community’s at-risk and most vulnerable patients. On behalf of every patient and community member touched by your generosity, thank you for your consideration of a philanthropic commitment to help us make One Mercy a reality for those we serve.
