George Eaton

George F. Eaton, Esq. is a senior vice president and chief legal officer of Northern Light Health. 
 
As a member of the senior management team, George provides governance and legal advice to the Northern Light Health boards and leadership teams across the system. He oversees a legal department that provides legal advice to all Northern Light Health member organizations across the entire spectrum of legal issues faced by our healthcare system constituents. 
 
His background includes decades of experience in corporate, commercial, and finance transactions, including acquisitions and joint ventures.
 
George is passionate about improving the availability of state-of-the-art healthcare for people in Maine, delivered in the most accessible, compassionate, patient-centric, quality driven, and cost-efficient manner possible. 
 
Between 1989 and 2012, George served as a volunteer board member on various boards within the Northern Light Health system including serving as board chair of Northern Light Health from 2010-2012. 
 
Prior to joining Northern Light Health, George spent thirty years in the private practice of business and corporate law in Bangor, Maine.

George joined the Northern Light Health legal department in 2014 as associate general counsel and senior governance advisor. He became vice president and deputy general counsel in 2017 and was promoted to senior vice president and chief legal officer of Northern Light Health in June of 2022.
